Where to find it
Preferences → General → User Data → Backup / Restore
The backup covers the local DinoX data directory and its accounts. It is not a backup of the entire XMPP server. Keep the file separately from the computer it protects.
An encrypted backup archive password differs from the account password. Later you also need the local database password belonging to the backed-up data. Keep both safe.
What to do
-
Open Backup, set a password for the encrypted archive and select the destination.
-
Wait for successful completion. Keep the file and required passwords safe.
-
To move, choose Restore on the destination device. It is also available during initial setup.
-
Select the backup, enter the archive password if needed and read the replacement warning. Back up existing destination data before replacing it.
-
After completion, restart as instructed, unlock, and check accounts, history and keys.
