Where to find it
Preferences → General → User Data / Database Maintenance
These actions affect the local DinoX data directory. Make a backup before resetting. Selecting an account elsewhere does not restrict these general actions to that account.
What do the choices mean?
Data location
Opens or shows the local data location. Flatpak uses a separate location from a regular installation. Do not delete database files at random while running.
Change database password
Changes the password unlocking local data. Does not change provider account passwords.
Clear cache
Removes cached data as described in the confirmation. Pictures or other content may need to be downloaded again.
Reset database
Removes data including messages, files and OMEMO keys while retaining accounts. This is a major operation, not a routine speed optimisation.
Factory reset
Removes local accounts and data. Read the exact confirmation first. It does not automatically delete registration at the provider.
Panic Wipe
Deletes local DinoX data and exits. Available in the main menu or through Ctrl+Shift+Alt+P; it is not normal quitting. Three failed normal unlock attempts also trigger it. The special post-restore unlock flow is exempt.
