Send your first message with OMEMO

Where to find it

Open the contact → Lock beside the message field

OMEMO is normally the default for new conversations unless you changed this account’s default. Check the actual choice at the lock. OMEMO encrypts messages for the devices of the people involved.

Contact permission alone is not enough: devices need to supply the necessary keys. If DinoX reports missing or unaccepted keys, open the contact’s encryption page. Do not switch to unencrypted messages just to bypass that notice.

What to do

1. Select “OMEMO” at the lock, or check that it is already selected.

2. Type your message at the bottom. Enter sends it; Shift+Enter inserts a line break.

3. After sending, check the message state. Sent, delivered and read are different states; a read receipt appears only when supported and allowed.
